GF77.20-P-3001PP Sliding/Pop-Up Roof Position Measurement, Function

GF77.20-P-3001PP Sliding/Pop-Up Roof Position Measurement, Function

- with CODE (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof
- up to Model Year 8

Direction recognition

1 Square-wave pulses from Hall sensor 1
2 Square-wave pulses from Hall sensor 2
360° One rotation of motor shaft

Position measurement
The position counter in the overhead control panel control module (N70) counts the Hall pulses, taking account of the recognized direction of rotation of the roof system motor (M12m1). The position counter is increased when the pop-up roof closes or the sliding roof opens. With the "Open pop-up roof" and "Close sliding roof" functions, the position counter decreases. The zero position is defined as the "Open pop-up roof", i. e. when the pop-up roof is completely opened, the counter should be at zero. The zero position is set by the synchronization function. If the zero position is exceeded in the open direction, the count becomes negative.

Direction recognition
The shaft of the roof system motor (M12m1) is equipped with Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) and Hall sensor 2 (M12b2). These react to the movement of the magnet. They supply one square-wave pulse for each rotation of the motor shaft.
The overhead control panel control module (N70) reads these Hall sensor pulses. The overhead control panel control module (N70) recognizes the direction of rotation direction of the motor from the time difference between the pulses from Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) and the pulses from Hall sensor 2 (M12b2).
