GF80.20-P-3010PP Open Trunk Lid With Transmitter Key, Function

MODEL 203.0 up to Model Year 8

Function
When the "remote trunk opening" transmit button on the transmitter key (A8/1) is pressed, it transmits a signal to the window antenna amplifier module 2 (A2/72) via radio. This signal is relayed via the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) to the EIS control unit (N73).
Parallel to the radio signal, an infrared signal is transmitted to left front IR receiver (A26/1) (on left-hand drive vehicles, on right-hand drive vehicles except Japan up to 23.4.06, on Japan up to 31.8.06) or right front IR receiver (A26/2) (on right-hand drive vehicles, on left- hand drive vehicles up to 23.4.04) (precise access required). This signals is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) or the right front door control unit (N69/2) and is transmitted to the EIS control unit (N73) via Controller Area Network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).

The EIS control unit (N73) checks the access authorization of the transmitter key (A8/1). If the access authorization is valid, the EIS control unit (N73) transmits the "Open" command to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). It actuates the CL [ZV] motor (S88/4m1) in the trunk lid lock to unlock the trunk lid electrically.

When the remote trunk is opened via the transmitter key (A8/1) the central locking remains inactive (no unlocking). The interior central locking (CL [ZC]) switch (N72/1s6) (up to 23.4.04) or the 'Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (N72/1s16) (as of 24.4.04) and the 'Lock CL [ZV]' interior switch (N72/1s26) (as of 24.4.04) are not enabled.
Once the trunk lid has been closed, it can only be opened by reactuating the transmitter key (A8/1).
