Audio Gateway Software Update to Version 16105

Note:
As of December 1, 2004, this DTB must not be performed on the following vehicles:

Model 215 - Serial Nos. A044380 to A044872, Covered under Service Campaign No. 2004090006

Model 220 - Serial Nos. A442747 to A447775, Covered under Service Campaign No. 2004090006

Model 230 - Serial Nos. F077822 to F092641, Covered under Service Campaign No. 2004090005

Combining this DTB with the above referenced Campaigns will result in a charge back of this DTB.

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the audio system having any of the below complaints, the Audio Gateway (AGW) software must be updated.

^ Temporary no audio at system startup

^ Auto-Store search does not store stations

^ Multiple AGW wake up at startup that maybe noted by the user

Connect SDS and check the version of the AGW Software Version using the steps outlined below:

1. Select the correct model

2. Select Control Units

3. Select Information and communication

4. Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics

5. Select AGW - Audio Gateway (MOST network management, diagnosis gateway, radio tuner)

6. Select Maintenance operations, control module adaptations or control module exchange

7. Select Control unit version

Note:
Please ensure that system voltage is above 12.5V during update process. Use battery charger or start the engine. Turn off all unnecessary electrival consumers ex. AC, lights,

Verify the software status (SW) of the AGW. If the SW is 16/05 please contact the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for further diagnosis, otherwise proceed to update the AGW software to 16105 using DAS 06106 or newer via the steps outlined below:

1. Select the correct model

2. Select Control units

3. Select Information and communication

4. Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics

5. Select AGW - Audio Gateway (MOST network management, diagnosis gateway, radio tuner)

6. Select Initial startup

7. Select Control module programming

8. Select SDflash release CD

9. Erase fault memory

10. Exit DAS, disconnect from vehicle's diagnostic port and remove ignition key.

11. Wait approximately 5 minutes and then start diagnosis with SDS again.

12. Perform Short Test and clear all DTCs.

Note:
If flash was unsuccessful or was aborted by itself, follow recommended guidelines as per STAR DIAGNOSIS. At times, it may be required to retry FLASH more than once, up to three times. If not successful, please contact the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for further assistance.

After updating the AGW, please check the version of the AGW and insure the version coding has been successful. Software status should be 16105.

The following allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair.
