AR41.10-P-0086-04R Correcting Center Inclination Angle at Propeller Shaft Intermediate Bearing

AR41.10-P-0086-04R Correcting center inclination angle at propeller shaft intermediate bearing

Propeller shaft intermediate bearing

Propeller shaft intermediate bearing:

Correcting center inclination angle (2)
To correct the inclination angle, install the shop-made shims at the propeller shaft center support bearing.

A 1 mm thick shim changes the inclination angle by approx. 0.17 degrees.
When using shims > 2 mm thick, increase the bolt length by 5 mm.

If a shim > 5 mm thick is required, check the front engine mount and rear engine mount for signs of settling or wear and replace if necessary.

Component Identification:

1 Remove bolts (7a) from propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7).
2 Insert shop-made shims (C) between frame floor assembly and propeller shaft center support bearing (7).

The dimension for the shims (C) must be taken from the propeller shaft center support bearing (7) (material: steel or aluminum).

3 Screw in bolts (7a) of propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7).
