GF32.22-P-4010SL Pressure supply, function
- with CODE (487) Active body control (ABC)
- up to 28.2.06
Component Identification:
ABC operates in the normal driving mode with a pressure between 180 and 200 bar.
A radial piston pump (1) is used for supplying the pressure. In the same way as the power steering pump, it is part of the tandem pump and is driven directly by the engine by the single-belt drive. The hydraulic oil is drawn out of the oil reservoir (2). A suction restrictor valve (Y86/1) attached to the pump regulates the inducted quantity and thus the pressure. The oil quantity is determined on the basis of the driving situation.
The oil is pumped by the pump to the pressure supply valve unit (52). A pulsation damper (52a) attached to this valve unit, compensates for oscillations in the hydraulic system. A pressure limiting valve in the valve unit prevents the pressure rising beyond 200 bar.
Pressure peaks are passed directly into the return flow and reduced.
The system oil pressure is monitored by the pressure sensor (B4/5).
Downstream of the pressure supply valve unit (52) the pressure is passed to the ABC front axle and rear axle valve units (Y36/1, Y36/2). At that point, the oil is supplied to the positioning cylinders in the suspension struts (40, 41), depending on demand. 2 pressure reservoirs assure the system pressure if there is a large oil demand.
Excess oil flows back along the return flow lines through an oil cooler (9) and an oil filter (2a) into the oil reservoir (2). The return flow also includes a return flow reservoir for absorbing the oil flowing back and for reducing pressure peaks. An oil temperature sensor (B40/1) located in a distributor in the return flow, measures the temperature of the oil. A pretensioning valve which assures a minimum pressure of 10 bar in the return flow when the engine is running, is housed in the same distributor.
