IV. Water Leak In Area of Roof Paneling
IV. Penetration by water into roof paneling inside areaCause 1:
Seal (1-Figure 12) to rail (2-Figure 12) leaky.
Procedure:
Seal seal (1-Figure 12).
Water ingress between rail (2-Figure 12) and seal (1-Figure 12) of side of vario roof (Arrow 5-Figure 10).
1. Perform rain test.
2. Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure (See WIS-document AR77.50-P-3000-01R)
Use Special Tool "Support".
3. Pull seal (1-Figure 12) out of rail (2-Figure 12) of vario roof.
4. Spray rail (2-Figure 12) on Vario roof.
Only in area A, outer sealing base hook-in (A-Figure 13).
Bend the nozzle of the cartridge (Figure 11).
a). Insert a wire of 2 to 3 mm in diameter into the nozzle to ensure that the cone point remains open while bending the nozzle.
b). Carefully heat the nozzle using a hot air blower.
c). Bend the cone point of the nozzle using pliers.
Use sealant gun and window sealant for dabbing (3-Figure 12).
5. Reinstall in opposite order.
6. Perform leakage test.
Cause 2:
Rail of Vario roof to Vario roof leaky.
Procedure:
Seal seal.
Water ingress between inner headliner and Vario roof seal (Figure 13).
1. Remove rail from side of Vario roof, seal (A-Figure 13, shown previously) (See WIS-doc AR77.50-P-4200R).
2. Perform leakage test.
