General
The DVD drive of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit supports the playback of videos/DVDs. Here, the video image is shown on the display on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit after the "VIDEO" menu and then the "DVD" submenu have been activated.

Operating instructions
The system can be operated using the:
- Control panels of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit
- Voice control system

Function sequence
The picture signal are processed internally. The audio signals on vehicles with code (810) Sound system, are transferred via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier (N40/3) where they are amplified and then processed to match the stored tone settings.

The amplified and processed audio signals are then output to the following speakers over discrete lines:
- Left door speaker group (H4/1)
- Right door speaker group (H4/2)
- Left rear speaker (H4/7)
- Right rear speaker (H4/8)
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27)
- Subwoofer speaker (H4/29)

The audio signal for the subwoofer speaker travels from the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via the MOST to the amplifier for sound system and from there, via direct lines, via the subwoofer amplifier (N40/9) to the subwoofer speaker.

On vehicles except code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are output by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit by means of direct lines via the following speakers:
- Left door speaker group
- Right door speaker group
- Left rear speaker
- Right rear speaker

The DVD/CD video function is only available when the vehicle is stationary (up to 3 km/h). When the vehicle is moving on, audio playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a warning is shown on the display on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
