Replace rear muffler
Remove
DANGER:
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes from handling hot or glowing objects. Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.
CAUTION: See notes on self-locking nuts and bolts
1 Raise vehicle.
Left rear muffler
2 Unscrew nut (11/7) and remove bracket (11/8)
3 Slacken clamp (9c)
4 Unhinge left rear muffler (9a) from exhaust rubber mounts (9/1, 9/2) and take out.
NOTE: Use lubricant
Inspect
5 Check exhaust rubber mounts (9/1, 9/2) for wear and damage.
NOTE: Check for wear, replace if required.
Install
6 Hang left rear muffler (9a) into exhaust rubber mounts (9/1, 9/2)
NOTE: Use lubricant
7 Loosely screw down left and right rear muffler (9a, 9b) by means of bracket (11/8) and bolt (11/7)
8 Align left rear muffler (9a) and screw down with clamp (9c) at center muffler (10)
9 Tighten nut (11/7)
Right muffler
10 Remove center muffler (10) with right rear muffler (9b)
NOTE: The right rear muffler cannot be replaced separately and must be replaced together with center muffler, Replace center muffler
Inspect
11 Inspect installation position and clearance o1 exhaust system
NOTE: The exhaust system must be installed free of stress, if necessary, Align exhaust system.
DANGER:
- Risk of accident. Accidents may result if the vehicle starts off unintentionally with the engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns.
- Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.
12 Conduct engine test run and inspect exhaust system for leaks.
