The tire pressure monitoring system makes it possible to display the current pressures of the individual tires on the multifunction display (A1p13) when driving or when the vehicle is stationary and the ignition is on. The values faded in correspond to the actual measured values without temperature compensation. Changes in the pressure display while driving are attributable to the changing temperatures of the air inside the tire.

Displaying tire inflation pressure:
^ Starting with the default display, press the (up arrow) button 3 times or the (down arrow) button 2 times on the multifunction steering wheel.

Component Identification:





^ The current pressures of the individual tires appear on the multifunction display (A1p13).





System message
It may briefly occur that this system message is faded in instead of the pressure values. This is the case when an activation process has been triggered, when wheel sensors are exchanged or other wheels are fitted. In these cases the tire pressure monitor system checks whether changes have occurred in the position of the wheels. The pressure values are only displayed when a clear assignment has been detected by the system.

The system logic automatically detects by means of field strength measurement at the left front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/44), the right front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/45), left rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/46) and right rear TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/47) the wheels with wheel electronics which are fitted to the vehicle in question and can assign them to the individual positions. If changes in the wheel assignment ensue (e.g. due to wheel changing), a learning process sets in which has detected the new status after driving for approx. 10 to 15 minutes. This process is only active while driving so as to avoid any signals from other vehicles being incorrectly assigned.
