Retrieve Compact Discs (CDs) from the CD Changer When Service is Required

Note:
For Information Only

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that may require service to the in-dash Compact Disc Changer (CDC), please insure that all discs are retrieved from the changer prior to service by following the below instructions.

Note:
To eject the CDs from the changer, the changer must be in the vehicle and connected to its entire assembly to receive a Door Open" message from CAN allowing the discs to be released by the changer. Connecting power will not enable the eject function of the CD changer.

1. Press the "open" button to open the automatic CD changer access door (Figure 1, arrow).

2. Check all six slots if there are any solid red LEDs noted in the CD changer buttons, each red LED may indicate a presence of a CD in the corresponding slot of the changer (Figure 2).

3. Press and release the corresponding button to eject the disc from its slot in the CDC, the CD will be ejected within a few seconds.

4. If there is more then one disc in the changer, then apply a long press to any of the buttons on the CD changer, all of the discs are ejected using this method (Figure 3).

5. Ensure that there are no CDs remaining in the changer by checking that none of the buttons on the changer are lit.
