Universal hypoid gear oils (SAE 85 W-90)

Front Final-drive Unit:

Removing

Component Identification:

1 Mark bearing cap to housing of front axle gear (arrow).
2 Turn flange with recess into position and unscrew collar bolts.
3 Pull out drive pinion with bearing cap, if necessary assist with light blows from a hammer.

Collect feathering out hypoid gear oil.

Install
4 Insert drive pinion gear with bearing cap.

Pay attention to marking (arrow).

If necessary turn the flange slightly so that the splines of the drive pinion/ring gear are not damaged.

5 Install collar bolts.
