Fuel Gauge Not Functioning / Implausible

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the fuel gauge reading too high, too low, or nonfunctional although the fuel level sensors are delivering the correct value, and corresponding fault code 9112 (Fault in CAN communication with control unit Rear SAM) listed as current in instrument cluster, this may be due to a software error in the rear SAM. To resolve, follow the below procedure.

1. Work through guided test in Star Diagnosis. Control Units-->Body-->Rear SAM-->Troubleshooting via complaint or symptoms-->Fuel gauge implausible

2. If test fails, Star Diagnosis will instruct user to replace Rear SAM. Only replace Rear SAM upon request from Star Diagnosis.

Note:
Install control units (N10/2) as of software release 10/03 and hardware version 03/04.

Note:
A reset via the battery or the rear SAM voltage supply provides only a short-term remedy.
