Removal and Replacement



AR41.10-P-0100P Remove/Install Intermediate Bearing and Grooved Ball Bearing


Shown On 2-Part Propeller Shaft:






DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.


1 Remove propeller shaft
2 Separate propeller shaft with splined shaft mount (1a) from propeller shaft with splined shaft journal (2)

NOTE:
- Three-part propeller shaft has two splines.
- Installation: Coat splined shaft profile with Molykote grease.

3 Pull rubber sleeve (4a) off propeller shaft with splined shaft mount (1a)

NOTE: Installation: Replace damaged rubber sleeve (4a) and ensure that new rubber sleeve is seated correctly.

4 Pull off rubber mount (7) with grooved ball bearing (8) and front protective cap.

NOTE:
- Replace damaged rubber mount (7).
- Installation: Press rubber mount (7) with grooved ball bearing (8) onto linkage arm.

5 Press out grooved ball bearing (8) at rubber mount (7) of propeller shaft.
6 Install in the reverse order
