Special Tools:

Component Identification:

1 Place large thrust piece (038a) (part 15 of removal and installation tool) on large tapered roller bearing outer race (46b).
2 Unscrew mounting bolt (054i) from assembly stand.

The mounting bolt (054i) can be used as a drift.

3 Press out large tapered roller bearing outer race (46b) on press using mounting bolt (054i); when doing so, counterhold large tapered roller bearing outer race (46b).
4 Remove large tapered roller bearing outer race (46b) together with shim.

Component Identification:

5 Turn rear axle housing around.
6 Unscrew pin from small thrust piece (038b) (part 16 of removal and installation tool).
7 Place small thrust piece (038b) part 16 on small tapered roller bearing outer race (43e).
8 Press out small tapered roller bearing outer race (43e) on press using mounting bolt (054i) of assembly stand. When doing so, counterhold small tapered roller bearing outer race (43e).
