Interior - Heat From Wheelhouse In Passenger Compartment

Heat from Wheelhouse Compartment Enters the Passenger Cabin
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of heat entry into the passenger cabin from the wheelhouse, perform the following procedure to resolve.
1. Remove filter housing above battery and remove housing (Figure 1, A). It is necessary to remove battery.
2. Remove rubber seal from engine dividing wall (Figure 2, B).
3. Remove drip molding (Figure 1, C) and replace with new drip molding part number A203 620 12 73 with rubber strip. Reinstall housing (Figure 1, A).
4. Open the right side wiring duct and remove the duct (Figure 2, D). Replace with new cable duct part number A203 820 10 69. Ensure the wires are routed properly in the guide.
5. Remove cover (Figure 3, E) above module box.
6. Remove front SAM and ME control units. Refer to WIS document AR07.08-P-7008P.
7. Open left wiring duct (Figure 3, F), move wiring to the side and remove the duct. Install new wiring duct part number A203 820 09 69. Ensure that the wires are routed properly in the guide.
8. Remove the fuse and relay box. Refer to WIS document AR54.21-P-1260P, remove drip molding (Figure 4, G) and replace with new drip molding part number A203 620 09 73 with rubber strip. Reinstall fuse and relay box.
9. Loosen foam rubber elements from old wiring ducts on the right and left sides and glue them to new wiring ducts.
10. Install rubber seal onto engine dividing wall (Figure 2, B).
