J. Installing the Telephone Cradle (VINS As of F176908)
1. Roll back the cover for the center console compartment.2. Remove the two T20 Torx screws (Figure 51) at the top of the false floor at the rear of the compartment.
3. Pull the top of the false floor (A, Figure 52) forward, toward the front of the compartment.
4. Remove the knockout from the false floor by pressing it out (B, Figure 52) from the back, toward the front of the compartment.
NOTICE!
Excessive force will crack or break plastic.
Applying excessive force while removing the knockout can crack or break the plastic false floor.
Do not use excessive force when removing the knockout from the false floor.
5. Find the kit-included contact plate (Arrows, Figure 53) and identify the FAKRA antenna male connector (A, Figure 53) and the power supply male connector (B, Figure 53).
6. Find the foam-sleeve-covered connectors behind the false floor, pull back the foam sleeves, and identify the:
^ Power supply female connector (A, Figure 54)
^ FAKRA antenna female connector (B, Figure 54)
7. Feed the leads of the contact plate through the knockout hole (Figure 55) from the front side of the false floor.
8. Snap the contact plate into the false floor knockout hole by firmly pressing down from the top side until an audible click sounds.
NOTICE!
Excessive force will crack or break plastic.
Applying excessive force when installing the contact plate can crack or break the plastic false floor.
Do not use excessive force when installing the contact plate.
9. Connect the power supply male connector (A, Figure 56) of the contact plate to the power supply female connector of the center console (B, Figure 56).
10. Connect the FAKRA male connector (C, Figure 56) of the contact plate to the FAKRA female connector (D, Figure 56) of the center console.
11. Secure the power supply and FAKRA connectors and cables to the cable manager on the false floor underside.
12. Reinstall the false floor with contact plate by pushing back toward the center console rear, the top of the false floor and reusing the two T20 Torx screws (Figure 57) to secure it.
13. Attach the cradle-according to telephone type-to the contact plate by placing it atop and slightly behind the contact plate and then sliding it forward until an audible click sounds (Figure 58).
14. Insert the telephone into the cradle (Figure 59).
