Function
For measuring the position of the steering column one Hall sensor is located on the fore/aft adjustment motor (M20m1) and one is located on the height adjustment up/down motor (M20m2). When adjusting the steering column, the signals from the Hall sensors are read in by the front seat adjustment control module with memory and easy entry, driver (N32/1), checked for plausibility and are counted in the location counter for position measurement.

In the process the Hall pulses received are either graded positive or negative depending on the polarity of the motor actuation voltage.
