AR46.30-P-0100P Checking Oil Pressure of Power Steering Pump










1 Detach air intake hose (47)

NOTE: Left-hand side.

2 Open supply reservoir cap (30g) and extract oil from power steering pump supply reserve
3 Disconnect high-pressure expansion hose (30i) to power steering pump
4 Fit connection fitting (040a) at high pressure expansion hose (30i)
5 Position connection hose (040b) on power-steering pump
6 Connect tester (039) between connection (040a) and connecting hose (040b)
7 Align test device and tighten all connections

NOTE: Ensure that the test device is not caught by moving parts such as fan and poly-V-belt

8 Fill supply reservoir

DANGER:
- Risk of accident from the vehicle starting off by itself when the engine is running. Risk of injury from bruises and burns if you hold your hand into engine when it is started or when it is running.
- Secure vehicle to prevent it moving off.
- Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.


9 Engine ON
10 Increase engine speed to approx. 1000 1 rpm
11 Close throttle cock (039a) and check maximum service pressure

CAUTION: Perform the test quickly to prevent the oil temperature from rising too high.

12 Engine OFF
13 Extract oil from power steering pump supply reservoir
14 Disconnect tester (039)
15 Detach connection (040a) and connecting hose (040b)
16 Replace seals of high pressure expansion hose (30i)
17 Screw high pressure expansion hose (30i) onto power steering pump
18 Filling and bleeding power steering pump
19 Check power steering pump for leaks
- Carry out visual inspection.

20 Mount air intake hose (47)

NOTE: Left-hand side.
