Test values for distance and comparison measurements on front axle:

The measuring set is designed in such a way, that the measuring bolts, according to the measuring points at the vehicle, can be screwed together out of mounting bolts, extensions and measuring tips.

The construction of the measuring bolts is shown in the table, where the numbers in the column headed "Measuring bolt construction" are the special tool end numbers

Component Identification:

1 Measure comparative dimension (V1).

Measured from check bore (K) to the ball head bolt on the torque strut (18), left to right. The bearings at the tension arm and cross strut must be in perfect condition in order to assess the consequences of an accident. Because of the inaccuracies resulting from the tolerances of the bearings, the dimension (V1) is only usable to a certain extent.

Component Identification:

2 Measure comparative dimension (V2).

Measured from the check bore (K) to the mounting bolt of the front axle carrier, left front to right. This dimension serves as the body reference dimension.

3 Measure comparative dimension (V3).

As measured from check bore (K) to center of mounting bolt of cross strut on front axle carrier, left to right.

Component Identification:

4 Measure distance dimension (V5).

Between the left and right front suspension strut tower, measured over the centering point of the check bores. This dimension can only be used to a certain extent to assess consequential damage, and where applicable a measurement must be performed on a comparable vehicle.

5 Measure comparative dimension (V6).

As measured from check bore (K) to center of mounting bolt of torque strut on front axle carrier, left to right.

Component Identification:

6 Measure distance dimension (V8).

Between left and right cross strut mounting on the front axle carrier, measured above the centering point of the mounting bolts.

Component Identification:

7 Measure distance dimension (V10).

Diagonal from the front axle carrier- left front mounting bolt to the front axle carrier- right rear mounting bolt, measured over the centering point of the mounting bolts.
