Telediagnosis is a supplemented of the TELE AID emergency call The objective of the telediagnosis service is quick and aimed support of the "24 h service".

Making a roadside assistance call
The breakdown assistance button is located at the telephone handset (A34) (wrench symbol). If it is pressed for more than 2 s, the "establishing Telediagnosis call" message appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). If the voice connection to the service center is established, the message "Telediagnosis - connection active" appears. After completing the roadside assistance call, the message is no longer displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13). The position and vehicle data transmitted to the Customer Assistance Center (CAC) are required for quick and reliable processing of the breakdown situation.

If the fault can be eliminated with the aid of the diagnosis experts, the telediagnosis is completed. If the fault is not rectified, the Customer Assistance Center (CAC) initiates further rescue measures. If local help is required, position data are taken over into a program with an electronic card. This serves for determining the vehicle location and the next MB service plant. The latter is informed and receives the required vehicle data from the Customer Assistance Center (CAC) to start effective rescue measures.

Telediagnosis can only operate when the system is authorized.
