The interior lighting system consists of the following lamps:
^ Surround lamp (A67e3)
^ Front ashtray illumination (E9/7)
^ Center air outlet illumination (E10/1)
^ Glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2)
^ Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/1).
^ Right vanity mirror illumination (E14/2)
^ Rear dome lamp (E15/3)
^ Left door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3)
^ Right door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4)
^ Luggage compartment lamp (E18/1)
^ Right luggage compartment lamp (E18/4)
^ Front dome lamp (N70)
^ Left front reading lamp (N70e2)
^ Right front reading lamp (N70e3)
^ Front cigar lighter (with illumination) (R3)

The lights are operated by different control units. The overhead control panel control unit (N70) in this case performs the master function.
The glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2) is provided with voltage via circuit 15. The front dome lamp (N70e1) and the left front reading lamp (N70e2) and right front reading lamp (N70e3) are integrated in the overhead control panel control unit (N70).
Several of the interior light lamps listed here can be assigned to the switch and controls illumination subgroup.
The switch and controls illumination lamps are dependent on circuit 58d.

In addition to the switch lighting, the following lights are also part of the switch and controls illumination:
^ Front ashtray illumination (E9/7)
^ Center air outlet illumination (E10/1)
^ Front cigar lighter (with illumination) (R3)

The brightness level of the switch and controls illumination is dependent on the setting of the instrument cluster (A1) instrument illumination rheostat and reset button (A1r1)
