GF82.20-P-3004Q Automatic Dome Lamp Actuation, Function
GF82.20-P-3004Q Automatic Dome Lamp Actuation, Function
Component Identification:
Basic preconditions for the automatic functions
^ Automatic driving light actuation is switched on via the instrument cluster (A1).
^ the dome lamp switch (N70s3) is switched on.
^ The rain/light sensor (B38/2) has recognized "night".
^ Automatic driving light actuation is switched off via the instrument cluster (A1).
If the front dome lamp (N70e1) has been switched on manually, no automatic functions can be performed.
Dome lamps automatic functions
Opening a door causes the front dome lamp (N70e1) and the rear dome lamp (E15/3) to be switched on (dimmed).
The dome lamps are switched off under the following conditions:
^ With "circuit 15 ON" dimmed, immediately after the last door has been closed or automatically 30 minutes after the last door was opened
^ With "circuit 15 OFF" dimmed, 8 seconds after closing the last door. Or automatically after t = 5 min., when the last door has been closed.
Unlocking the vehicle causes the front dome lamp (N70e1) and the rear dome lamp (E15/3) to be switched on (dimmed). Switching off takes place dimmed, 30 seconds after unlocking the vehicle. Removing the transmitter key (A8/1) causes the front dome lamp (N70e1) and the rear dome lamp (E15/3) to be switched on (dimmed). Switching-off is effected automatically after the OFF delay time of the interior light adjusted in the instrument cluster (A1). The OFF delay time can be set to a value of between 0 and 20 sec. at 5-second intervals.
If position "circuit 15 ON" is activated while an automatic lighting function is active, the front dome lamp (N70e1) and the rear dome lamp (E15/3) are switched off immediately (dimmed). If the prerequisites (position of left door contact switch (S17/3) or right door contact switch (S17/4) or rain/ light sensor information) change during an automatic function, the change takes place immediately.
In vehicles with code (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA)
When an ATA alarm occurs, the front dome lamp (N70e1) and rear dome lamp (E15/3) are switched on immediately without any dimming function.
Actuation
The lamps are actuated internally in the overhead control panel control unit (N70), in which the front dome lamp (N70e1), the dome lamp switch (N70s3) and the rear dome lamp switch (N70s2) are integrated.
The overhead control panel control unit (N70) contains the following information hereto:
^ Brightness
The rain/light sensor (B38/2) is read in by the overhead control panel control unit (N70) for this purpose.
^ The condition of the left door contact switch (S17/3) and the right door contact switch (S17/4)
They are read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and relayed via the class B (interior) Controller Area Network Bus (CAN-B).
^ The interior light OFF delay time setting
It is relayed by the instrument cluster (A1) to the overhead control panel control unit (N70) via the CAN-B.
If undervoltage or overvoltage occurs, the front dome lamp (N70e1) and rear dome lamp (E15/3) are switched on immediately without any dimming function. When the correct voltage is restored, the front dome lamp (N70e1) and rear dome lamp (E15/3) are switched on without any dimming function.
No switching off takes place in vehicles with code (551) Anti- theft alarm system (ATA).
Ambient lamp
As of 01.12.04 an ambient lamp (A67e3) is installed that is used for ambiance illumination. The ambient lamp (A67e3) is switched on and off by changes to the status of circuit 15R.
