DVD COMAND Head Unit Screen Display Misaligned





Note:
This is only applicable to vehicles with the VIN range specified below:





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the DVD COMAND screen is misaligned (Figure 1), the COMAND Head Unit must be replaced. Refer to WIS document AR82.85-P-7472PA for 203 and AR82.85-P-7472QA for 209.

Perform visual inspection of the DVD COMAND Head Unit for screen misalignment:

1. Turn the Head Unit ON

2. Press the Audio Hard Key

3. Press the Radio Soft key

4. On the head unit screen display, carefully compare the right side of the soft keys to the left side.

5. Check for a gap (free space) between the right side of the right edge of the soft key field and the plastic frame of the head unit.

6. If there is gap, check the same on the left side of the display if the soft key information field is missing or cutoff.

7. If this is verified by the visual inspection, replace the COMAND head unit WIS document AR82.85-P-7472PA for 203 and AR82.85-P-7472QA for 209.

8. After COMAND replacement, visually inspect all soft key information for proper alignment.
