GF83.40-P-2170-03Q Convenience Automatic Air Conditioning Box Function

GF83.40-P-2170-03Q Convenience Automatic Air Conditioning Box Function
- with CODE (581b) Convenience automatic air conditioning

Heating mode

Component Identification:

Heating mode with activated charcoal filter convenience automatic air conditioning (C-AAC)

Settings:
- AC OFF Off
- Both AUTO buttons pressed
- Activated charcoal filter mode ON
- Recirculated air mode OFF

Function
In the heating mode, fresh air (A) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air/recirculated air flaps actuator motor (M2/5). The air, which is purified by the dust filter (1), is conducted as a result of the position of the activated charcoal filter flap adjustment motor (A32m2) through the two activated charcoal filters (2) and passes through the cooled evaporator (3), is dried there and cooled. Then the dried and cooled air (B) is heated up again due to the position of the left blending air flap actuator motor (M2/6) and the right blending air flap actuator motor (M2/7) in the heater heat exchanger (4).

The heated air (C) is conducted to the air outlets, due to the position of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10), the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11), the left fresh air flap actuator (M2/19) and the right fresh air flap actuator (M2/20):
^ Footwell Open
^ Vent nozzles Open
^ Defroster nozzles restricted
^ Other flaps can be operated manually

The cooled air (B) is also diverted immediately downstream of the evaporator (3) for indirect ventilation, which is controlled by the cold air addition wheel at the center vent.
In this function, the defroster flaps of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9) are slightly open.
During the transition from heating mode to cooling mode (mode change), the footwell flaps of the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11) begin to close.
The condensation water is led to the outside condensation water drain.

Cooling mode

Component Identification:

Cooling mode with activated charcoal filter convenience automatic air conditioning (C-AAC)

Settings:
- AC OFF Off
- Both AUTO buttons pressed
- Activated charcoal filter mode ON
- Recirculated air mode OFF

Function
In the cooling mode, fresh air (A) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air/recirculated air flaps actuator motor (M2/5). The air, which is purified by the dust filter (1), is conducted as a result of the position of the activated charcoal filter flap adjustment motor (A32m2) through the two activated charcoal filters (2) and passes through the cooled evaporator (3), is dried there and cooled. Then the dried and cooled air (B), due to the position of the left blending air flap actuator motor (M2/6) and the right blending air flap actuator motor (M2/7), is conducted past the heater heat exchanger (4).

The dried and cooled air (B) is then conducted directly to the air outlets, due to the position of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10), the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11), the left fresh air flap actuator (M2/19) and the right fresh air flap actuator (M2/20).

The cooled air (B) is also diverted immediately downstream of the evaporator (3) for indirect ventilation, which is controlled by the cold air addition wheel at the center vent.
In cooling mode, the footwell flaps are closed via the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11).
Using the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/19) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/20), the defroster vent flaps can be opened if the outside air is dry. The other flaps can be operated manually.
During the transition from cooling mode to heating mode (mode change), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10) and the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11) begin to open the footwell flaps.
The condensation water is led to the outside condensation water drain.

Normal mode

Component Identification:

Normal mode with activated charcoal filter convenience automatic air conditioning (C-AAC)

Settings:
- AC OFF On
- Both AUTO buttons pressed
- Activated charcoal filter mode ON
- Recirculated air mode OFF

Function
In the normal mode (AC OFF lit up), fresh air (A) is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air/ recirculated air flaps actuator motor (M2/5). The air, which is purified by the dust filter (1), is conducted as a result of the position of the activated charcoal filter flap adjustment motor (A32m2) through the two activated charcoal filters (2) and passes through the cooled evaporator (3), is dried there and cooled. Then some of the dried and cooled air (B) is heated up again due to the position of the left blending air flap actuator motor (M2/6) and the right blending air flap actuator motor (M2/7) in the heated heater heat exchanger (4).

The remainder of the dried and cooled air is diverted past the heating system heat exchanger (4) and is blended with the heated air (C) to form blended air (D) downstream of the heating system heat exchanger (4).

The mixed air (D) is conducted to the air outlets, due to the position of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10), the right footwell flap actuator motor M2/11), the left fresh air flap actuator (M2/19) and the right fresh air flap actuator (M2/20):
- Footwell Open
- Vent nozzles Open
- Defroster nozzles restricted
- Other flaps can be operated manually

The cooled air (B) is also diverted immediately downstream of the evaporator (3) for indirect ventilation, which is controlled by the cold air addition wheel at the center vent.
As the result of the position of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the defroster vent flaps can be opened if the outside air is dry.

Blended air mode with recirculated air

Component Identification:

Blended air mode with recirculated air and activated charcoal filter convenience automatic air conditioning (C-AAC)

Settings:
- AC OFF On
- Both AUTO buttons pressed
- Activated charcoal filter mode ON
- Recirculated air mode On

Function
In the mixed air mode with recirculated air (AC OFF lit up), recirculated air is drawn in by the blower motor (A32m1) as a result of the position of the fresh air/recirculated air flaps actuator motor (M2/5). This is conducted as a result of the position of the activated charcoal filter flap adjustment motor (A32m2) through the two activated charcoal filters (2) and passes through the cooled evaporator (3), where it is dried and cooled. Then some of the dried and cooled air (B) is heated up again due to the position of the left blending air flap actuator motor (M2/6) and the right blending air flap actuator motor (M2/7) in the heated heat exchanger (4).

The remainder of the dried and cooled air is diverted past the heating system heat exchanger (4) and is blended with the heated air (C) to form blended air (D) downstream of the heating system heat exchanger (4).

The mixed air (D), via the position of the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the left footwell flap actuator motor (M2/10), the right footwell flap actuator motor (M2/11), the left fresh air flap actuator (M2/19) and the right fresh air flap actuator (M2/20), is conducted to the air outlets:
- Footwell Open
- Vent nozzles Open
- Defroster nozzles restricted
- Other flaps can be operated manually

Cooled air (B) is also diverted immediately downstream of the evaporator (3) for indirect ventilation, which is controlled by the cold air addition wheel at the center vent.
Using the left defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/8) and the right defroster vent flap actuator motor (M2/9), the defroster vent flaps can be opened if the outside air is dry.
