AR83.30-P-6540Q Remove/Install Condenser












DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning from inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant.
- Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area No smoking or open flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves Work only in well ventilated areas Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.


CAUTION: Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Remove air intake pipes (1) of air cleaner housing (2)
3 Remove drier cartridge

NOTE: Installation: The drier cartridge must be replaced after the refrigerant circuit has been opened.

- Observe additional oil quantity after replacing parts.

Correct oil level in air conditioning system after replacing parts.
4 Remove radiator grill
5.1 Disconnect Distronic connector (5)
- With CODE (219a) Distronic

6 Disconnect horn connector
7 Detach hydraulic fluid cooler

NOTE: Unscrew the screws (6) of the power steering hydraulic oil cooler at front end crossmember (10).

8 Detach front end crossmember (10) at bumper

NOTE: Unscrew screws

9 Unscrew the screws (7).

NOTE: From the front end crossmember (10) on right and left

10 Detach connector for hood lock

NOTE: The connector is located under the front end crossmember (10) on the passenger-side

11 Unhook hood release cable (3)
12 Take off dip (9) of air guide
13 Remove front end crossmember (10)
14 Detach air dueling cover
15 Detach lower engine compartment paneling

NOTE: Front paneling

16 Disconnect connector (15) from refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor (B12/2)
17 Unscrew nut (13)
- Nut for refrigerant lines on condenser: 8 N.m

18 Pull pressure lines (12, 14) out of condenser (11)

NOTE: Installation: replace O-rings Moisten threads and O-rings with compressor oil.

CAUTION: Seal off openings to prevent foreign bodies from entering.

19 Remove condenser (11)

NOTE: Press clips (17) together, remove condenser (11) at top and unhook from brackets (16) at bottom

20 Remove condenser (11)
21 Install in the reverse order

22 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase

NOTE: After completion of the work, it is necessary to process and erase the DTCs stored in the DTC memory during assembly and testing work due to disconnected lines and simulation.

23 Perform basic programming.
