Remove/install oil pressure relief valve

Shown On Engine 112:

DANGER:
- Risk of fatal accident from vehicle slipping or toppling off the lift platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of lifting platform and position the four support plates below the support strong points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

1 Remove oil pan bottom section (1)
2 Remove oil pan top section
3 Remove oil pump (2)

NOTE: Installation:
- Check that oil return shutoff valve (3) is correctly seated.
- Clean strainer of oil pump.
- Fill oil pump with engine oil before installing so that the oil is delivered when first started.

4 Replace oil pressure relief valve

NOTE: The oil pressure relief valve is supplied together with the oil pump for repair purposes. It is therefore not necessary to disassemble the oil pump.

5 Install in the reverse order.

DANGER:
- Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury from crimped connections and combustions when meshing during the starting procedure or when engine is running
- Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself.
- Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.
- Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

6 Run engine and inspect for leaks
