Remove/Install Oil-Water Heat Exchanger At Oil Filter
Shown On Engine 112 Without Air Pump:
DANGER:
- Lethal injuries are possible If vehicle slips off of lifting platform
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
1 Unclip cover at face end of engine
- Model 211, 220, 230.475
2.1 Remove engine trim panel or air cleaner
- Except model 170.466, 203.065/265, 211.061/065/070, 230.475.
NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.
2.2 Remove air cleaner housing
3 Remove fan shroud (2) with electric fan (1)
NOTE:
- Except Model 211.061/065/070
- Before removal of fan shroud (2) disconnect connector of suction fan.
- On model 163 unscrew bolts at bottom of fan shroud (2).
4 Unscrew oil filter housing cover (3)
DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
5 Drain coolant at radiator
NOTE: Model 163: For draining coolant disconnect bottom coolant line from radiator or coolant pump.
6 Dismount coolant line (4, 5) from oil-water heat exchanger (6)
7 Remove air pump
NOTE: Only for engines with air pump.
8 Dismount oil-water heat exchanger (6) from oil filter housing
CAUTION: Installation: Install new sealing rings (7).
9 Install in the reverse order
10 Inspect cooling system for leaks.
