Interior - Noise When Moving Front Seat Back Rests

Seat Noise from Driver and/or Passenger Seat

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a noise when moving either front seat backrest forward to access the back seats, this could be caused by the backrest locking mechanism needing grease. Follow the steps below to correct.

1. Access the backrest locking mechanism located on the door side of the seat frame by moving the seat all the way forward.

2. Apply grease A002 989 06 51 to the four locations of the locking mechanism as shown in Figure 1 and 2, circles.

Operation: Seat frame, lubricate (91-0000)
