Glove Compartment Lid Noisy

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the glove compartment lid makes a creaking noise on rough road surfaces, the actuator for the glove compartment illumination micro switch may have rubbed off the flocked coating at the contact point on the glove compartment lid. Replacing the glove compartment lid will not be a long lasting repair. To resolve, perform the following.





1. Drill a 4.5 mm diameter hole in the center of the area (Figure 1, circle) where the flocked coating has rubbed off.

2. Insert a plug into the drilled hole.
