C. Function Testing and Final Assembly

1. Verify proper trunk operation per the following checklist:

> With the trunk lid lock tumbler in the neutral position (A, Figure 13), verify the trunk will open when:

X Actuating the switch on the driver's side door panel

X Pressing the trunk lid button on the license plate recess

X Pressing the trunk button on the SmartKey

> With the trunk lid lock tumbler in the locked position (B, Figure 13), verify the trunk will not open when:

X Pressing the trunk button on the SmartKey

> With the trunk locked or unlocked, verify the trunk will open when:

2. Check the DTC memory of all installed components and components in the trunk. Identify and investigate any present DTCs. Correct the source of the DTCs. Clear the DTC memory.

Note:
Powering up the newly installed system prior to version coding will set errors. Ignore these errors during the initial DTC check. If the DTCs return after clearing, a configuration error is present. Locate and correct the error.

3. Confirm no new DTCs are present in components in the trunk.

4. Reinstall the plastic cover (Figure 10) rear of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.

5. Reinstall the trunk paneling on the left side.
