Do not damage paint.
1. Clean holes (2) for air inlet grate mounting clips.
Remove paint residues present with 7.2 mm dia. bit or awl
2. Insert mounting clips (3) for air inlet grate into cleaned holes (14 each).
The openings of the mounting clips should point in the direction of travel.
3. Install chrome strips (4) on left and right in front bumper paneling (1) and check arrest of chrome strips (4) on inside; if necessary, press in again (see arrow).
4. Insert center impact absorber (5) into bumper paneling.
5. Insert inner section (6) into front bumper paneling
Observe precise seat, do not damage retaining lugs.
6. Fasten inner section (6) with clips (16) in front bumper paneling (1) (25 each)
Component Identification:
The clips should not reach into the mounting opening.
Press clips onto assembly lugs with suitable tool. When installing hold bumper paneling, component is resilient.
7. Fasten inner section at top edge of front bumper paneling (1) on outer right and left with blind rivets (7) (6 each).

8. Fasten swip clips (17) on outer right and left of headlamp cutouts with blind rivets.

9.1. Insert PTS wiring harness (8), removed from standard bumper, into inner section (6) and fasten to brackets present.

10.1. Fasten PTS, front bumper connector (X26/27) to inner section (6) with two expansion rivets (see arrow).

11.1. Connect front bumper PTS sensor unit (A42) and insert into brackets
Before inserting sensors, check decoupling rings, replace if damaged.

12.1. Install HCS covers (9) removed from standard bumper with HCS spring (10) into front bumper paneling (1).
For this purpose, press bearing bracket on HCS cover (9) together and position on bearing pins. Then close HCS cover (9) and insert HCS spring (10) (see bottom figure).
13. Insert tow eye cover removed from standard bumper into front bumper paneling and hook in retainer.
Component Identification:
14. Install left and right impact absorber (11) removed from standard bumper into inner section (6).
Insert impact absorber outside (see arrow) and arrest inside.
On vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS), code 220 ensure that PTS wiring harness is routed correctly (routing is defined in impact absorbers).
15. Install spring nuts (12) for fastening front fog lamps (13) in inner section (6) and install front fog lamps (13) with two flange bolts each (M5x12) (14).
The front fog lamps should be seated correctly in the adjustments (see arrow).
16. Install license plate frame (15) at outside of front bumper paneling (1) and prepare for assembly.
Use license plate frame (15) as template for marking holes. The distance (a) between the license plate frame and the left and right body side moldings should be equal. Align license plate frame (15) along contour of front bumper paneling (1) (see arrows).
17. Drill four holes for assembling license plate frame (15) and install license plate frame (15) on front bumper paneling (1) with four bolts (PT50x18).
Tighten screws only with screwdriver.
18. Insert right, left and center air inlet grate and clip in temperature sensor.
Install air inlet grate only after installing front bumper on vehicle. Before arresting grate, ensure that grate is seated correctly in mounting clips.
