The compact cassette player is integrated into the radio (A2). When the cassette is played it starts with the 1st track, the side which points upwards being defined as side 1. With this function a cassette symbol is shown in the display (not in telephone mode).
When the cassette is inserted the play function continues from the place that it last stopped.
Inserting/injecting cassettes
If a cassette is pushed in beyond the removal position when the compact cassette player is switched on, it is drawn in automatically and adjusted to the defined cassette mode. The type of tape is detected automatically.
Pressing on the "Eject" button again will eject the cassette. The unit switches over to radio mode.
The compact cassette player drive is operated using the function keyboard.
A sluggish cassette is ejected automatically. In this case the compact cassette player switches automatically to radio operation. A tape break is not recognized.
Winding forwards and backwards
The winding forward/back is done by pressing the wind button as described below:
^ Winding forwards, wind button "at top" display "CC FF"
^ Rewinding, wind button "at bottom" display "CC REW"
When the end of the tape is reached, the track is changed and play mode commences. The winding process is continued when there is an incoming call. Play mode remains in the pause status until the end of the telephone call.
The winding function is terminated by the following events:

Scan search
The scan function is started by a lengthy press of the wind button. Each piece of music is played for approx. 8 s. The display is as in the fast forward/back cassette mode, however the abbreviation "SC" is also shown.
Skip blank function
When the drive does not detect a sound signal on the cassette for more than 15 seconds, fast forward to the next title takes place automatically. If a next title is not detected, it winds to the end of the tape and the track is changed and the search continued. When function is active, "SB" appears on display. The process is terminated after the end of the tape has been reached for the 3rd time (empty cassette). The device switches back to radio mode.

The following events will switch the compact cassette player into the pause status:
^ incoming or outgoing telephone calls
^ Muting
Playback takes place from the same point at the end of the interruption.
