GF82.60-P-2003QMU Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function

GF82.60-P-2003QMU Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function
- with CODE (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system)

In connection with the COMAND, operating, display and control unit (A40/3) a distinction must be made between audio sources and service sources:
Audio sources are:
^ Radio tuner
^ Digital versatile disk (DVD) drive

Service sources are for example:
^ Telephone system
^ Voice control system (VCS)
^ Voice output with navigation system

Volume setting
Changing the volume of an audio source has an identical effect on all other audio sources. The volume is also jointly regulated within the service sources in the same manner.

The volume of voice output for navigation can be changed during voice output. An adjustable distance (in the "Settings" menu) between the volume of the audio signal and voice output is automatically adhered to. This means that voice output remains audible even in the case of loud audio output.

Tone setting
Manual tone settings (treble, bass) can be made for each audio source on the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). Adjustments which have been selected for the voice output during navigation, also influence the voice control system (VCS) (with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS])). The following tone settings are possible:
^ Standard
^ Low ambience
^ Medium ambience
^ High ambience
^ Language
^ Driver optimized

With a change in sound emphasis (balance, fader) the ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes. The signal processing required for volume and tone settings as well for the final amplification of the audio signals takes place in the sound amplifier (A2/13).
