GF82.60-P-2003QKU Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function

GF82.60-P-2003QKU Volume/Tone Adjustments, Function

All volume and sound settings are carried out at the control panel of the radio (A2). It is necessary to distinguish between audio sources and service sources:
^ Audio sources are
^ CD drive
^ Radio tuner

Service sources include:
^ Announcement of traffic information radio channel
^ Telephone system
^ Voice control system (VCS)

Volume setting
The volume setting is regulated at the rotary pushbutton of the radio (A2) for each of the selected audio sources. In addition, the volume can be adjusted separately in all the audio and service areas (e.g. telephone, traffic information radio channel).
The volume of the traffic information can be increased or decreased using the rotary pushbutton.
Using the "Reset" function, predefined settings for all sound parameters, including volume, can be selected and reset to the manufacturer default settings.

Speed-dependent volume control (SDV) and Dynamic Range Optimization (DRO)
The volume is adapted to the noise level in the vehicle interior by SDV and the automatic interior noise adaptation feature DRO.

In the process the vehicle speed signal and signal input to the sound amplifier microphone (B25/6) are used as a relationship indicator.

Muting function
If the user presses the "Mute" function key, the audio source currently being listened to is muted and the CD player is switched to the pause mode. The "muting" function status can also be triggered automatically. If the vehicle is equipped with code (388) telephone "Handy", UPCI system and if the portable CTEL (A34/6) is placed in the UPCI [UHI] portable CTEL holder (Universal Handy Interface) (A34/15), the radio (A2) switches to telephone mode for an incoming call and the currently selected audio source is muted.

Tone setting
The radio (A2) has manual sound settings (bass, treble, balance, fader) available for each audio source. The "AUDIO" function state can be called up from every other functions state, except "AUTO ON".

All the sound settings can be displayed in succession on the screen by repeatedly pressing the "AUDIO" function key. The sound control only relates to the active function status of the currently selected system.
With a change in sound emphasis (balance, fader) the relative ratio of the volume of the individual speakers changes. The settings "balance" and "fader" are called up by pressing the main function key for sound distribution in the left control panel of the radio (A2). The signal processing required for the volume and sound settings is carried out by the radio (A2) or the sound amplifier (A2/13) (with code (810) Sound system).
