TV-mode, function
The LCD color display of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) is used for television reception. TV reception is possible up to approx. 8 km/h and can be activated with the present TV button.
Moreover, the system can be controlled from all seats with an infrared remote control.

The TV tuner (A2/42) on model 209 is located on the righthand side of the luggage compartment.

The TV tuner (A2/42) on model 203 as from 1.7.02 is located on the right-hand side of the luggage compartment.

The audio signals are preamplified by the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and the required tone settings (volume, bass, treble and fader) are made.

Search for and store stations
In TV mode the stations can be located and stored using the following functions:
^ Automatic station search
^ Station search via list of stations
^ Setting station by channel selection
^ Station selection using direct channel entry
^ Station selection from station memory

Up to 10 stations can be stored.

AV mode
2 external devices can be connected to the TV system. Using the right knob, "AV1" or "AV2" can be selected via the menu field.

TV mute function (as from 1.6.01)
The mute function of the audio sources is maintained when it was activated before switching off.

Displaying mute status in the TV screen
If the mute status is set, a Mute symbol appears in the top right of the display.
It is necessary for the mute status to be transmitted to the TV tuner (A2/42) with a newly generated command so that the mute status can be displayed on the TV screen.
The setting which was performed last before switching off the ignition, is adopted when the ignition is switched on again.

On model 203 as from 1.7.02 the switch-off threshold for TV mode is reduced from a speed of 8 km/h to 6 km/h.
