Depending on the equipment installed one of the following control units will be installed, hereafter referred to as the "audio unit":
- Radio and navigation unit (A2/56), with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3), with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)

Function requirements
- Status "Circuit 15R ON"
- The "audio equipment" is activated
- To operate the mobile phone, the enabled Subscriber identification module (SIM) card has to be inserted into the mobile phone

The voice control system (VCS [SBS]) can be used to operate various mobile phone functions, with code (386) Mobile phone, and the "audio equipment".
