With Hand-Held Tester (HHT)

Special Tools:

Connection Diagram For HHT:

1. Connect HHT (087) with test cable (097) to data link connector (X11/4)
2. Ignition: ON
3. As per display in HHT:
a) read out/erase DTC memory
b) read out actual values
c) perform activations
d) program control modules
4. Disconnect HHT

NOTE: Observe system specific notes, Description of On-Board Diagnostics
Erase all stored faults which come about when tests or simulations are performed, upon completion of the repairs.


Prerequisites for readout of DTC memory

NOTE: Readout via the impulse counter scan tool is not possible.

1. Perform Test and adjustment of engine, if necessary.
2. Review Sections: 21, 22, 23, 24, 31, 33.
3. Connect HHT (087) with test cable (097) to data link connector (X11/4). Readout DTC fault codes.
4. Ignition: ON
