Short Stroke Electric Power Windows, Function

Short Stroke Electric Power Windows, Function

Function prerequisites:
- Synchronizing of the relevant power window performed

Opening/closing driver/front passenger door
To facilitate the opening of the driver or passenger door, the front and rear side windows are moved into the short stroke position (approx. 4 mm below the end position "window closed").
The movement is detected by the left door contact switch (S17/3) or right door contact switch (S17/4) and transmitted as a signal to the rear SAM control module (N10/8) via a separate line. The rear SAM control module (N10/8) transmits this information as a CAN message to the relevant left door control module (N69/1)/right door control module (N69/2) and to the RVC control module (N52).
These operate the power window motors.
After the door is closed, the relevant side window is moved into the "Window closed" end position.

Open/close driver/passenger window
When the left front or right front side window is opened, the corresponding rear side window is first lowered automatically by approx. 4 mm. This ensures trouble-free running of the front side window.
If the front side window is closed, the rear side window rear subsequently closes completely.
(Prerequisite is, that the rear side window is still in the short stroke position.)

NOTE: If the side windows are not synchronized, a lowering of the corresponding front side windows and rear side windows is performed only in the short stroke position. A closing procedure is not carried out.
