II. Water leak in area of inner A-pillar seal

Cause:

A-pillar water ingress.

Procedure:








Seal on A-pillar and anchor (1, 2, 3-Figure 7) on A-pillar.

Water ingress along inner A-pillar seal (Arrows Figure 5).

1. Perform rain test.

2. Remove A-pillar paneling (See WIS-Document AR88.80-P-8500R).

3. Spray under A-pillar seal (Area of dotted line).

Do not remove seal. Use sealant gun and window sealant for dabbing.

4. Seal anchor (1, 2, 3-Figure 7) all the way around.








5. Mask A-pillar opening (shaded area Figure 6) with sealing strip. Use 12 x 1.5 mm butyl strip.

6. Reinstall in opposite order.

7. Perform leakage test.
