Two-Piece Vario Roof Rear Shelf, Location/Purpose/Design







Location
between trunk lid and rear wall.

Purpose
The two-piece rear shelf is connected to the left main bearing by a mechanical positive coupling and opens the storage area for the Vario roof in the trunk.

Design
The bottom section of the rear shelf is moved mechanically by the Vario roof joint. The upper section of the rear shelf is positively controlled mechanically by a control cable fastened to the left main bearing.
