Outside Mirror Adjustment Motor, Location/Design/Function

Outside Mirror Adjustment Motor, Location/Task/Design/Function

Location
The motors for adjusting the mirror lens and the mirror housing are integrated in the housing of the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1] and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2).

Design
The motors for adjusting the mirrors are d.c. motors with a potentiometer fitted to each shaft for detecting the mirror position. The motors for folding in the mirrors (if code 500b fitted) do not feature position detection.

Function
The motors are operated by the left door control module (N69/1) for the left outside mirror and by the right door control module (N69/2) for the right outside mirror. The motors rotate to the left or right depending on the polarity of the actuation voltage.
