Interior switch
The interior switches are enabled through the passenger compartment CAN as a result of the locking and unlocking functions of the central locking.

The vehicle can be locked centrally, with the exception of the fuel filler flap, using the interior CL close and ATA function display switch (S6/5s3) in the hazard warning flashers and CL switch group (S6/5). The vehicle can be unlocking using the Interior CL open switch (S6/5s2) in the hazard warning flashers and CL switching group (S6/5).

This does not activate or deactivate the anti-theft alarm (ATA). The signals of the interior switches of the hazard warning flashers and CL switch group (S6/5) are read out by the lower control panel control module (N72) and transmitted as a CAN message.

For the functions of the electric interior switches, the signals of the left door contact switch (S17/3) and of the right door contact switch (S17/4) (door opened means door contact closed) are additionally evaluated by the rear SAM control module (N10/8).

This information is supplied to the pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) via the passenger compartment CAN and the corresponding pneumatic elements are operated. Opening the driver's or front passenger door unlocks a vehicle that has been "globally" unlocked from outside provided the interior switch is activated and the vehicle is traveling below the speed threshold for automatic locking.

If the vehicle has been unlocked "selectively", it is only possible to unlock the relevant door manually.

The following situations are possible:
- Driver's door open: Only unlocking is permitted.
- Front passenger door open: Only unlocking is permitted.
- Locking from outside with key: Only locking is permitted.
- Unlocking from outside with key: When no door is open, full function.
- Authorized key inserted: Interior switch is active in both directions.

NOTE: Speed threshold for doors : 15 km/h
