Central Locking Control With Mechanical Key, Function
Central Locking Control With Mechanical Key, Function
The mechanical key can be used to lock or unlock the
- driver's door (national version)
- trunk lid
- glove compartment
Driver's door
The driver's door is locked/unlocked purely manually without a change of the status of the central locking.
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) is not deactivated in this case. On vehicles fitted with anti-theft alarm (ATA), it is necessary to insert the master or emergency key into the EIS control module (N73) in order to switch off the impending alarm.
Trunk lid
The trunk lid can be locked manually by turning the lock cylinder into the 90 degrees position with the mechanical key.
It cannot be opened either manually with the remote control key (A8/1) nor with the remote trunk release switch (S15) (porter function).
Glove compartment
The glove compartment can be locked with the mechanical key. This information is detected by the stowage compartment switch (S85) and read in by the passenger-side SAM control module (N10/11). The passenger-side SAM control module (N10/11) transmits a CAN message to the pneumatic control module with combined functions (A37) which pneumatically locks
- the glove compartment
- the right and left rear box
- the lid of the center console stowage compartment
This function cannot be canceled by the remote control key (A8/1) (porter function).
When the glove compartment is unlocked, the interior stowage compartments are pneumatically unlocked at the same time.
