If the lock cylinder in the trunk locks is in the 0 degree position (1), the trunk lid lock is actuated pneumatically when the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) is pulled, if the vehicle is unlocked globally. If this is not the case, the mechanical key must be held in the 30 degrees position (2) and the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) pulled in order to open the trunk lid manually.

It is not possible to open the trunk lid if the lock cylinder is in the 90 degrees position (3). The trunk lid must be turned to the 0 degree position using the mechanical key.

NOTE: Opening with the mechanical key is always possible irrespective of the status of the CL. If opening is performed with the mechanical key, an alarm is activated by the anti-theft alarm (ATA). This can be terminated by inserting the remote control key into the EIS control module (N73) or by the "Opening/closing' signal of the remote control key (A8/1).
