Activating/Accepting Call, Function

Function

Activating call
The voice recognition feature for the voice control system (VCS) is activated in the voice control module (A35/11) when the voice control system switch is actuated.

Simultaneously the entire voice control system is actuated and signals to the user by an acoustic signal (beep). In addition, the hands-free system is activated and the radio muted to ensure the greatest possible stability of the user input.

The system is then in the Input mode. From this time, entry commands are available to the user which allow the user to communicate with the system via the hands-free system microphone and control system by entering commands (voice entry).

If an entry is not made immediately, the hands-free system microphone is switched to a more sensitive setting. In addition if no entry is received, the VCS is deactivated after approx. 15 seconds.

Accepting call
An incoming call is accepted with the telephone keys on the multifunction steering wheel.

As during activation, the radio is also muted here to ensure the greatest possible stability of the user voice input.

It is also possible for the user to use the hands-free system microphone for the call.

In this case, the system voice output is accomplished via the hands-free system loudspeakers.
