Wiper Blades Improper Wipe
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the center of the wiper blade does not sit properly on the windshield leaving an area un-wiped, the condition may be caused by an incorrect installation where the spring to the slider is installed out of the guide. Before replacing any wiper for this condition, please ensure proper installation of the slider spring (Figure 2). Wiper blades found to be incorrectly assembled will be returned to the dealer and the warranty claim will be debited as of repair date October 27, 2003.
It is also possible that the wiper blade is incorrectly installed as evidenced by the cutout in the slider not conforming to the blade (Figure 3). When correctly assembled, the cutout in the slider must match the wiper contour (Figure 4).
