Noise When Slamming Door





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding a noise when slamming the door, the hex nuts on the front and rear window rails at the bottom of the door may have worked loose (Figure 1, 1 and 2). To resolve, replace the original nuts with the new nuts (nut with washer), as currently used in production, as follows.

1. Apply Loctite 242 to the new nut.

2. Tighten nut to 9 Nm.

3. Loosen nut 1/2 turn.

4. Tighten nut to 13 +/- 2 Nm.
