Audio System - Mutes Randomly

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of audio mutes with the following symptoms, please perform the below remedy to resolve.
Symptoms:
1. Short mutes, approximately 2 - 3 seconds in length
2. Mutes can occur as often as every start-up and as seldom as once in 5 start-ups
3. Mutes can occur as soon as 15 sec after start-up and as long as 35 mm after start-up.
Remedy:
1. Remove TeleAid control unit.
2. Disconnect D2B connector from the TeleAid control unit.
3. Open plug housing.
4. Reconnect both D2B optical cables with coupling (A 000 545 33 84).
5. Reinstall TeleAid control unit.
6. Connect to SDS.
7. Reconfigure D2B optical ring to reflect omission of TeleAid control unit by following the path:
a. Control Units
b. Information and communication
c. Audio, video, navigation and Telematics
d. COMAND-D2B
e. Retrofitting of D2B components
8. Verify that Actual Configuration matches Specified Configuration in D2B optical ring.
9. Disconnect SDS
