Controlling
The electrically adjustable steering column (EVL) is actuated by the system memory which contains the following functions:
^ Manual seat and steering column adjustment,
^ Memory adjustment, driver-side (seat, steering column, outside mirror),
^ Memory adjustment, front passenger-side (seat),
^ Easy entry/exit,
^ Mirror park position,
^ Key-dependent adjustments

Manual steering column adjustment
The position of the steering column is adjustable manually via the electrical steering column adjustment switch (S59). The longitudinal and height adjustment can be regulated separately:
^ the fore/aft position of the steering column,
^ the height of the steering column.

Steering column adjustment memory function
The steering column positions can be stored and called up by the memory function. The positions are stored in the front seat adjustment control module with memory and easy entry, driver (N32/1).

Easy entry/exit
The easy entry/exit function makes it easier for the driver to get in and out due to the steering column being moved into the upper blocking position.

Easy entry/exit can be activated in the instrument cluster.
