Seat Belt Not Retracting Completely
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of the seat belt not retracting completely, perform the following procedure to secure the seat belt guide. The seat belt guide may have become detached from the inertia reel.
Inspection:
1. Carefully pull the seat belt extender (Figure 1, 1) out and unclip the cover frame (Figure 1, 2).
2. Pull the seat belt out completely and using a flashlight check to see if the seat belt guide has become detached (Figure 2 and 3).
Repair:
1. Gain access to the inertia reel; refer to WIS document AR68.30-P-4780Q (coupe) or AR68.30-P-4780QA (cabriolet).
Note:
The inertia reel does not need to be removed
2. Reinstall white plastic seat belt guide back into position.
3. Use a wedge tool to push the inertia reel slightly away from the tan mounting bracket. Bend the cable tie and thread it through the seat belt guide and the black part of the inertial reel bracket (Figure 4).
4. Secure the cable tie so that the buckle of the cable tie faces away from the seat belt. The cable tie must not be able to move where it will contact the seat belt (Figure 5).
5. Reassemble in reverse order.
